"Exit Fo[u]r" Track No. 9
Writer’s block is real.
Laziness is real.
Once I learned to discern between the two, I had no more excuses.
Hard work leads to success.
Success doesn’t always show up as soon as we want it to, or even in the same manner we expect it.
That doesn’t mean it’s not worth giving it your all.
It took four years to paint the sistine chapel... even for Michelangelo.
LYRICS
I wanna stop trying to write when the words don't come out on the first try
A glass of wine to loosen up my mind, but I tell myself I'll get back to it another night
Man, I need a good cry
Been feeling down on my luck, never given up but never good enough
What once was light is now a sacrifice, but if I don't bite I'm gonna pay a bigger price
Got skin in the game, but not quite, not quite
Hours that can never be restored, flowers in letters I left on your door fall short
So I resort to fallow
But it took four years to paint the Sistine Chapel even for Michelangelo
A sacred silence fills the air every time I prime myself to go nowhere
I'll take a tour of each and all my drawers, but I'm never quite sure just what I'm looking for
Will I ever know if I'm cut out for more
Hours that can never be restored, flowers in letters I left on your door fall short
So I resort to fallow
But it took four years to paint the Sistine Chapel even for Michelangelo
So, I'll never stop trying to write
