My First Trip Alone | Savannah, GA

Flying scares the crap out of me. I've flown a lot in my life but there's just something about not having control of the situation and being so far above the ground that gets me worked up every time. It's also the reason I hadn't gone on so many trips that I could have taken advantage of.

About 2 years ago, my best friend moved from Jersey down to Savannah. We used to live across the street from each other so you can imagine how big of a difference the distance turned out to be. I would always talk about how I was coming down but every time I would get close to buying that ticket, I would find some excuse to back down.

In September, I decided "enough is enough." A. I need to stop saying I'm going to do something and just do it, B. I need to stop watching other people taking advantage of their life on Instagram and do it for myself, and C. I may or may not even be here tomorrow so I'd better act fast.

If you are in even a remotely similar situation, here is my advice to you: GO FOR IT!

This is your sign.

I had 2 of the best flights ever, spent some quality time with my bestie, made memories, experienced a new (and beautiful) area of the country, ate amazing food, finally met Penny (pictured above), and so much more. It's right there waiting for you. You just have to grab it.

My second piece of advice is that if you have the ability to work remotely, do it. I was able to go down for a whole week and work while I was there so that I didn't have to take any vacation time. Plus, working in a new environment can really be a great way to jump start your motivation and get the creative juices flowing.

I hope you take the chance and have the most lovely experience. You owe it to yourself and this beautiful life God has given you.

Let us know how it goes and join the conversation on Instagram!

Sending love always,

J.S.
