7 Yummy Foods To Help You Stay Hydrated At The Beach This Summer

I cannot tell you how many times we've gotten through about half of a beach day and we're already out of water and other drinks.
It's always important to stay hydrated, but it's especially important at the beach. Boy oh boy can that sun get hot! There's only so much you can pack before you break your back carrying the cooler around - then you also have to worry about making sure you bring all the trash and recycling off the beach. And depending on where you're at, it can be extremely inconvenient (and pricey) to go grab another water bottle from a vendor.
Now, I know people are very serious about their beach snacks - believe me, I'm with you, I need me some chips by the ocean. When I went on the hunt for alternatives, I bumped into a few fun and yummy natural snacks that can help you stay hydrated this summer without the extra hassle. Instead of replacing your old snacks with these, I recommend just adding 1 or 2 to your beloved packing list!
7 Yummy Foods To Help You Stay Hydrated At The Beach This Summer:
1. Watermelon (92% Water)
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you probably already knew this one. Just a reminder that it's always a great snack to have on a hot day! It's also low in calories and rich in antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C and magnesium.
2. Cucumbers (95% Water)
Chop them up and eat them with ranch, hummus, guac or just by themselves. They're light, refreshing and contain vitamin K, potassium and magnesium. They're also one of the vegetables with the lowest caloric intake.
3. Celery (95% Water)
Celery is so easy to prep - just rinse and chop! Eat it alone or pair it with nut butter or ranch. You can't go wrong with this low calorie, high fiber veggie with a crunch.
4. Tomatoes (94% Water)
I love me some cherry tomatoes. When I found out that they were 94% water, I couldn't wait to go to the beach again to pack them as a snack. Let's just say, it did not disappoint.
5. Bell Peppers (92% Water)
Alright, one of my all-time favorite veggies are bell peppers. They're such a yummy snack and I couldn't be more excited that they're on this list (LOL)! Cut them up like French fries or buy a pack of the mini ones and at them whole. They're great by themselves, on a sandwich or dipped in hummus or ranch. Did I mention they're also great for your immune system?
6. Cantaloupe (90% Water)
For my melon lovers who aren't particularly fond on watermelon - I gotchu! Chop up some cantaloupe and head to the beach for a refreshing afternoon of hydrating, immune boosting fun.
7. Strawberries (91% Water)
I've never met a living soul - who wasn't allergic - who didn't like strawberries (if you are that one person who doesn't like them, please shoot me an email or a DM, I'd love to meet). They're small, delicious, nutritious, easy to pack and can be as savory or as sweet as you want. The perfect beach day companion!
I hope this helps! Wishing you a very safe, healthy, happy and hydrated summer this year!
Sending love always,
J.S.
